Set your agency timezone

Your agency timezone decides where a day starts and ends for everything Handl does with dates. Set it under Settings → Agency.

It's worth two minutes because it quietly affects a lot:

Which day a time entry lands on, and therefore which week or month it counts toward.
Report periods — "this week" and "this month" in the Team Member and Utilisation reports.
When scheduled billing triggers fire, and when invoices dated "today" are actually dated.
How invoices group by week or month in the invoices list.
Due dates and overdue calculations.

If you've never set it

Handl doesn't leave dates undefined — it falls back to a default timezone, and the setting shows you which one it's currently assuming rather than an empty box. That's the point of the control: the assumption was always there, it just wasn't visible.

The page also suggests the timezone your browser is in, so if that matches your agency you can accept it and move on.

Good to know

This is your agency's timezone, not each person's. A distributed team still reports on one consistent calendar — otherwise "this week" would mean something different for everyone and no two reports would agree.
Changing it re-buckets existing data by date. Numbers near a period boundary can shift by a day. Nothing is recalculated or destroyed — the same hours simply fall on the correct day.
Individual users have their own timezone for display purposes; the agency setting is what reports and automation use.

FAQs

Will changing this alter invoices I've already sent?
No. A sent invoice keeps its issue and due dates exactly as issued.

My month-end totals moved slightly after I set it. Is that a bug?
No — that's the fix. Entries logged late in the evening (or early morning, depending which way you moved) were previously landing on the neighbouring day. They're now on the right one.

Which one should I pick if we're spread across countries?
Choose where the business is based and books its revenue — usually where you invoice from. Consistency matters more than matching any individual's location.
