Quotes in the portal: approval and history
When you send a client a quote or agreement, they can review it, sign off, and come back to it any time — Handl keeps a running history right in their portal.
Steps (from the client's side)
- When you send a quote or agreement, the client sees an Action Needed banner on their dashboard and project page.
- They click Review & Approve (for a quote) or Review & Sign (for an agreement), which opens the signing page.
- Once approved or signed, it moves into their Quotes tab as part of their permanent history.
- From the Quotes tab, they can View any quote or agreement again, or download it as a PDF, at any time.
Statuses clients see
- Awaiting approval — sent, and not yet actioned.
- Approved — signed off by the client.
- Expired — the review window passed before it was actioned; you'll need to resend it.
Good to know
- The Quotes tab appears automatically the first time you send a client a quote or agreement — there's no visibility setting to turn on.
- Approving is a genuine sign-off through the signing page, not just an acknowledgement — treat it as your client's binding agreement.
- Clients can always re-download a past quote or agreement as a PDF, even long after it's approved.
- If a quote expires before your client actions it, you'll need to create and send a new one — expired quotes can't be re-approved as-is.
FAQs
Can a client approve from their phone? Yes — the signing page works on mobile browsers as well as desktop.
Will they be reminded if they forget to approve? The Action Needed banner stays visible on their dashboard and project page until it's actioned or it expires.
Can I see whether they've viewed a quote yet? Yes — quotes move to a viewed state once opened, before the client formally approves them.
