Reading the team revenue vs cost dashboard
Reading the team revenue vs cost dashboard
The Team revenue vs cost panel on your dashboard gives you a quick read on how profitable your team's work is, person by person.
Steps
- Go to your main Dashboard — the Team revenue vs cost panel sits alongside your income panels.
- Switch between This week, Last week, or Month using its own period selector.
- Check the top tiles for Client work cost, Internal cost (no income), and Total cost.
- Scroll the table below for a per-person breakdown: Hours, Revenue, Cost, Margin, and Billable/Util.
- If any teammates are missing a cost rate, a note at the bottom flags them — they'll show $0 cost until you set one.
Good to know
- Revenue here is a productivity measure — hours multiplied by billable rate — not actual cash. It won't match the totals in your income panels, which reflect what's actually been invoiced and received.
- This panel is only visible to your account owner, or to teammates you've explicitly given cost visibility to.
- Internal cost captures work logged with no income attached — useful for spotting unbillable time eating into margin.
- The totals row at the bottom sums your whole team, not just the rows currently shown on screen.
FAQs
Why doesn't Revenue match my invoiced total? Revenue here reflects the billable value of hours worked, not what's actually been invoiced or paid — check your income panels for cash totals.
Why does someone show $0 cost? They're missing a cost rate — set one in Settings → Team to see their real cost and margin.
Who can see this dashboard? The account owner by default, plus anyone you've given cost-rate visibility to.
