What the Handl AI assistant can do

The Handl assistant is built to handle the day-to-day questions and busywork of running your agency — so you can ask it instead of digging through screens yourself.

What it can help with

  • Clients & projects — look up a client or project, summarise status, create or update projects, and check what's outstanding.
  • Billing & invoicing — draft and send invoices, chase overdue ones with reminders, record payments, and prepare quotes and agreements for signing.
  • Time & team — review and approve time entries, check team rates, and look at who's working on what.
  • Reporting & forecasting — pull aging reports, cash flow, revenue and margin breakdowns, and forecasts for a client or the whole agency.
  • Admin & integrations — manage team members, check on connected integrations, and trigger a sync.

How it behaves

For quick questions and lookups, the assistant answers straight away. For anything more sensitive — like sending an invoice or signing off a payment — it proposes the action for your review first, rather than acting unprompted. You'll find these proposals waiting in an approvals queue, where you can approve, reject, or snooze them.

Good to know

  • The assistant runs on Google's Gemini AI models.
  • It only ever works with your own agency's data — never another agency's (see "What data the AI can and cannot see").
  • You can chat with it inside the app or in Slack — see "Chat with Handl in the app and in Slack."
  • How much it can do without asking first depends on your autonomy settings, which you control.

FAQs

Will it send something to a client without me checking first? Client-facing actions are generally proposed for your approval rather than sent automatically, depending on your autonomy settings.

Can it answer questions about a specific project? Yes — ask it directly, by name, and it'll pull the relevant details.

Does it replace reports and dashboards? No — it's a faster way to get the same information, and a way to act on it, not a replacement for the dashboards themselves.
