Chat with Handl in the app and in Slack

You can talk to the Handl assistant right from the app, or from Slack if you've connected it — same assistant, same access to your data, wherever you reach it from.

Steps — in the app

  1. Click the chat bubble in the corner of the screen (you can drag it to reposition) to open a quick chat panel.
  2. Or go to Dashboard → Chat for the full-page view.
  3. Type your question, or paste in a screenshot for the assistant to look at.
  4. Start a New conversation any time, or reopen a past one from your conversation history.

Steps — in Slack

  1. Connect Slack first (see "Slack" under Integrations).
  2. @mention the assistant in any channel it's in, or message it directly.
  3. It replies right in the thread or DM — no need to switch back to your browser.

Good to know

  • Chatting in Slack and chatting in the app both use the same assistant, with the same access to your agency's data.
  • Slack replies use simpler formatting than the web app — you won't see tables there, since they don't render well in Slack.
  • Your clients also have their own, more limited chat inside their portal — see "What data the AI can and cannot see" for how that differs.

FAQs

Is Slack chat separate from Slack notifications? No — the same Slack connection carries chat, approval prompts, and digests together.

Can I paste a screenshot into the chat? Yes — the in-app chat input supports pasting an image alongside your question.

Do I lose my conversation history if I close the panel? No — past conversations are saved and available from the conversation history.
